BREAKING: The Ivy League will opt of the House v. NCAA settlement!

The Ivy League sent in an email on Tuesday announcing that the conference will not participate in the House v. NCAA settlement As a result of not participating, the Ivy League schools:

Will not be subject to NCAA roster limits

Will continue to not provide student athletes with revenue sharing allocations, athletic scholarships, or direct NIL payments

Are set to maintain its longstanding rules, that prohibit any form of compensation for participation in athletics will continue to provide an NCAA I experience.

The House v. NCAA settlement, which had been proposed last May, proposed settlement would require the NCAA to pay $2.8 billion back in damages to athletes who could not profit off their name, image, and likeness from 2017-2020 & create a system in which $22 million from each school is to be distributed to players annually.

In doing so, scholarship numbers have increased for each sport, with roster limits to be implemented. For XC/TF, the proposed for that limit to be 17 for cross country and 45 for track and field

As mentioned before, the Ivy League will opt out of the settlement and will not be affected by the rulings of the it.
